Steering Board

The second C2CoE Steering Board meeting was held on the 24th and 25th of September. Representatives from all our Sponsoring Nations were present. In the process of their joining the United States were represented by an advisor to the chairman. The C2CoE Steering Board meeting was chaired by Col Henk Bank (NL MOD) and observed by representatives from ACT and N3CA. All decisions were made by consensus. Among other subjects our Program of Work of 2009 was discussed and approved. It was a huge complement for our centre when the chairman stated that C2CoE shows an excellent performance. He stated that our products are internationally recognized and well appreciated. All members’ contributions made this Steering Board meeting into a successful event. In the late afternoon of the first day a battle field tour was organized, guided by our colleague Maj Stephan Schmidt. Operation Market Garden (September 17-September 25 1944) was an Allied military operation fought in the Netherlands and Germany in World War II.The tour was received very well and made once again crystal clear that C2 during Operation Market Garden was as important for successfully accomplishing military operations as it is in today’s world.
