NEC seminar September 2008
The NEC seminar has been the eight in a series of semi-annual NEC
seminars in the Program of Work of the C2 Centre of Excellence. It
was organized in close, transatlantic cooperation with the
National Defense University in Washington DC.
The seminar was held in the facilities of the C2 Centre of
Excellence in Ede, The Netherlands, from 9 –
11
September 2008.
Our aim was to enhance
NEC awareness by explaining the concept and sharing the experiences
with NEC to the audience.
Objectives of this seminar:
* explain the theory of NEC (NCW) to the audience, compare it with the
experiences from operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, NRF and
Disaster Relief Operation,
* discuss about Human Dimensions in the NEC environment during the
workshop,
* inform the audience about the NEC implementation progress in nations
(NOR, DEU, NLD) and NATO strategic framework,
* identify possible critical aspects of NEC (Cyber defense, C IED
fight).
We brought together experts
with an operational background in the field of NEC from nations,
NATO entities, industry and other organizations to address these
issues. The focused three day seminar sought to achieve its aim
through a combination of presentations and discussions.
There were 39 participants from 11 countries presented at the
Seminar.
Christine MacNulty, the speaker of the Day 2 morning, led a workshop
related to human factors in NEC environment. Mrs MacNulty also
presented her product
"Truth, Perception and Consequences"
